The Gift of Time

Our Developmental Kindergarten Program is designed to give a child who may not yet be ready for the rigors of the public school Kindergarten, an extra year to work on his/her; fine motor skills, social or emotional growth, or need for more play.  As in our Four’s program, there will be work on alphabet; letter recognition, writing, beginning sounds, simple words, simple math skills; number recognition and counting, calendar work.  We use the whole child approach to learning.  Some children learn auditorily, some visually, and others kinesthetically.  We endeavor to use all three styles of teaching in order to touch every child’s needs.

This is a five-day-a-week Program running from 9:00 - 12 noon with the option to stay until 2:00 PM for the school’s Lunch Bunch.  Monday - Thursday the Developmental Kindergarten will function separately from our Three’s Program (T/TH) and our Four’s Program (M/W/F), but on FUN FRIDAYS , the “DK” students will join the Four’s for cooking, Round-Robin, guest readers/visitors, music programs, and our ever-popular Lunch Bunch Enrichment classes ie: Mad Science, Gymnastics, Spanish, Music.
